Earth basically began as rock and dust, and the rest
simply seemed to be there without purpose. Then came
the streams and the oceans, but never a dream; it started
out, by what appeared to be hopeless. Yet, hitherto, time
was measured in billions, and all in preparation for an
explosion of breath. Now, I have seen life just the way it
may have looked at its origin, and I still remember what
it was like, and how I thought Van Leeuwenhoek might
have felt, peering through his microscope at his little...
